Nick was delighted to have the opportunity on Monday to present a cheque to internationally renowned singer songwriter Martyn Joseph for his charity Let Yourself Trust following on from the monies raised at the Painting & Drawing Deominstrations he performed as part of his one-man Exhibition at Penarth Pier Pavilion.
Martyn, who has received an Amnesty International Award for his humanitarian work explained that the money will be going to Jeevan Asha (meaning Life of Hope) Day Care Centre. It is based just outside Mumbai & offers pre-school age children living in the slums the chance to receive education, nutrition & basic healthcare. For most of the children the Centre provides the only nutritious meal of the day and its main focus is to educate & empower the community to motivate and inspire it to improve livelihood options.
A big thank you to everyone who made a donation and if you’d like to know more about the work of the charity which does amazing work both in the UK and overseas visit http://www.letyourself.net
